Louella O'Herlihy

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Louella will become a fully qualified Acupuncture Practitioner accredited from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading (CICM) and a member of the British Acupuncture Council in November 2017. During September to November Louella will be practising under indirect guidance from the College as part of her pre-qualification period.

Over the last three and a half years Louella has trained professionally in both Five Element Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), enabling her to transfer the eastern philosophies and their approach to traditional healing with a combined approach.

Previously Louella gained a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2003 where she practised in women's and men's health, orthopaedics, paediatrics before becoming a Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist.

Louella competes at GB Age Group in both Duathlon and Triathlon. It was while competing at this level that she realised the benefits of Acupuncture and its ancillary techniques including Cupping, Moxabustion, gua sha and electro-acupuncture which all keep her 'match fit'!

She has a passionate belief in keeping the body, mind and spirit functioning optimally before it becomes unbalanced by supporting emotional harmony. The Five Element approach in particular focuses on this aspect.

Louella's interests are in pain management, women's and men's health and musculoskeletal conditions.
